When rebuilding the LaunchMyWeb site I decided to include a resources page to help new developers find some of the same type of great resources that helped me to get started. Upon my first being interested in web design I would spent hours on other web developers sites looking at how they built their portfolio, and how all the different elements came together.

After reading online material, and dissecting, and experiencing on my own I felt experienced enough to develop web sites on my own. Looking back I fully understand that the best way for me to learn was to analyze my competition. I studied everything from what fonts, image types, and page style layouts were used, when, and how they were used.

I learned quickly, in this business an organized developer is a successful one. I installed an xammp apache server on my PC so I could do in-house development. Until I could purchase high quality royalty free images to use - and used MS Publisher and other open source software packages that provided free images.
